Semantics

Conversation in our kitchen Friday night:

Elisha: Mom, what is a show off?
Me: Someone who wants everyone to pay attention to them.
Elisha: Well then, Mrs Cerny (his preschool teacher) is a show off.
Me: Why?
Elisha: Because she always wants us to pay attention to her.

There's just something about the English language that requires more than a simple definition, you know? :o)

What's a semantic?

:)

Semantics: from the online dictionary, definition 3 which reads, "the meaning, or an interpretation of the meaning, of a word, sign, sentence, etc.: Let's not argue about semantics."

I love that picture of Elisha - you should blow it up and frame it!

Thanks for commenting on my blog; I wondered if anyone even reads it anymore since I post so sporadicly (not that all that many people read it before)
