I rarely forward email messages because they are usually urband legend stories or sappy anecdotes. My aunt sent me the link to this
video a couple of days ago, and Jim and I watched it. All I could say was "Wow." Just click on the purple box; it takes about 5 minutes to watch. Let me know what you think.

Wow! That was powerful for me as a teacher. I had the faces of certain kids flashing through my mind the whole time I watched. With the best of intentions, I wonder how many children we have failed.
That was great! I think that is one of the best things on kids i have seen in a while. thanks for sharing that one Jaena!
As a parent of a fish and a zebra, I've learned that I cannot parent without wisdom from the Father. Trusting is a daily ritual. I have no how to's for parenting anymore. Each day has it's own new question.
Isn't THAT the truth, Anon - - - the part of having no "how to's" for parenting. I USED to think I was on top of it as a parent - - - - - more the fool I.
My first reaction is: Where can I go to find scenery like that? Wasn't that view of Mt. Ranier awesome?
My second reaction is that it's a good reminder of how we need to take a second look if a child appears to be having difficulty mastering a skill.
I have a fair amount of experience with "non-conforming" children (we're not allowed to say "special ed" anymore)and I feel that many weaknesses (which we tend to dwell on in the educational environment) are offset by strengths, sometimes amazing strengths, which tend to be overshadowed by what a student "can't do", their weaknesses.
I could go on and on, but I'll stop for fear of boring you.
