Wish I Were There

B: Becca, Jaena, Marcia & Shelli

Jil and Madelyn

We went up to Pokagaon State apark to set up for KFC Camp (that's Kids for Christ camp, not Kentucky Fried Chicken Camp). After months of planning and organizing, it was finally here! Over 90 campers and 40 workers rolled into camp, ready for a week of great fun and spiritual growth.

Jim, Elisha, Madelyn and I spent Sunday night but decided it might be crazy to stay the entire week (5 days mostly alone with a strong-willed three year old and a high maintenance 5 month old might have stressed out even my amazing husband).

So I am at home, wishing I were at camp...wondering how things are going...looking forward to next year when - hopefully - I can be there too!

This is the fun about blogging... you see people connected to other people all over the place. It's amazing what the blogging world has done for our culture... i'd lke to write a book. Speaking of which, I adore the Asher Lev books (you noted them on my blog)

We've spoken a few times back in IWU days. Laura (can't believe I can't remember her last name right now - worked at Lakeview with you, engaged to David Lindner) and I were roommates her Senior year at a house on Washington street along with Andrea Noble. She may have have commented to you before about when her most frustrating roommate threw out her scissors or something like that. We get on well, but she was frustrated with me a lot... you might have heard those stories. :)

Thanks for commenting! It's fun to connect with people from common experiences!

Hey Jaena,
I wish you could be there too, but hopefully in a later season :-) It was awesome for you to organize it and I am sure God will honor your & teams efforts.
It was so great to see you all a few weeks ago - sorry we missed Jim.

Wouldn't it be great if they had Kentucky Fried Chicken at KFC camp! It would be a lot tastier than the anchovies I had to eat for my team a few years ago!

Hey! Still haven't shelled those peas yet - thanks again for the evening. Wanted to let you know I succumbed to blog peer pressure and started a blog "wuertleyfamily.blogspot.com." I can't figure out how to do a lot of things yet so it is pretty basic - we'll see how it goes.

OK, maybe I'm just slow on the uptake, but I guess I didn't realize you were related to Deb? How are you guys related? I saw her new blog and she referred to "her cousins" blog- yours! What am I missing????

I was just reading your comment on Holly's blog about our relation. Funny you said that about the sports/music talent - read my latest blog entry and you will understand. I wrote and published it right before I was spying on other people's comments. Weird...
