This Just In

My conversation with Madelyn who has been in bed for over an hour now and is still not asleep:

Me: Madelyn, why aren't you asleep?

Madelyn: I done sleeping.

Me: You're done sleeping?

Madelyn: Yes. I done sleeping and I wake up. See? (as she holds both hands out as if to say, "Don't you see, mom? It's perfectly clear to me.")

In her defense, she did need her diaper changed. And I'm also wondering if I confused her tonight by putting her to bed in a onesie and sweats instead of her normal pajamas (which are currently in the washer, waiting to go in the dryer). Maybe she really thought it was naptime instead of nighttime. Who knows?

Ah, I bet she's the cutest little insomniac EVER! Hopefully she'll realize soon that it's dark outside, and that it IS time to go to sleep!

I don't imagine the LOUD thunder that rolled through here about 9:30 helped her sleep either!!!!

Buy the poor girl more pajamas!

(I was told recently to buy John more sweatshirts. Someone said that his wearing the Lutheran High one every day made him look like a geek. Sigh.)

Madelyn actually has several pairs of pajamas, BUT they are suppose to be washed on the gentle cycle, so sometimes they get put aside so I can do them all at once. That's when I run out. Once summer comes, we're wearing t-shirts to bed - very low maintenance!

Wish I could get John to wear t-shirts. He still insists on "the real thing."

P.S. I don't wash anything on the gentle cycle. Don't use me for a role model!

Her little language sounds so cute! It's so funny how they associate certain things with bed. She thought she knew exactly what was going on!

Sounds like a Daniel conversation. Aren't 2 year old's fun?

Never mind that apostrophe I put in my previous comment... I have no idea why it's there!! (Maybe because it's past midnight and I need to be in bed.)
